Philipp Peter, Owner & Co-CEO, explains the reasons and importance of Wetag’s membership in the most prestigious international networks in the industry and how this translates into major advantages for the quality of service offered to its clientele.
One of the elements that distinguishes Wetag in the Ticino real estate landscape is undoubtedly its international dimension. How is this network of affiliations and partnerships structured?
“To sell exclusive villas, apartments, palaces and land, you need access to an extraordinary network of brokers in contact with the wealthiest clients across all countries of the world. Starting from this principle, Wetag has built, over the years, a system of exclusive affiliations with the most important luxury real estate networks.
We are the exclusive members of Christie’s International Real Estate in Ticino, the real estate network associated with the prestigious auction house. We are also exclusive members in Ticino of Luxury Portfolio International Real Estate and Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, the world’s largest residential real estate organization, founded over 40 years ago.
Furthermore, we are founding and exclusive Ticino members of EREN – the European Real Estate Network, the only European network of boutique real estate brokerage firms. Ueli Schnorf and I have served on the Executive Committee for many years, and Ueli, along with the legendary Giorgio Viganò from Milan, was the founder of EREN back in 2005 and is still a member of the Board of Directors.
Naturally, we also face significantly higher overhead costs than average, and accordingly, to access these international networks, our brokerage commission is slightly above the norm. However, I firmly believe that when it comes to achieving the ultimate goal — the sale of the property — in this case too, the saying holds true: ‘you get what you pay for.’
