Are marketers superfluous today?

There is an unprecedented transparency in the real estate market. Not only do the established portals outdo each other with real estate offers and various associated services, but numerous smaller providers also offer their services in this area. The spectrum ranges from valuation to indices to a variety of services in real estate marketing.

A marketer's asset used to be his knowledge of who wanted to sell a property and who was interested in buying one. His job was to bring these two parties together and broker a deal. But this knowledge is generally accessible today. The pure "information broker" has had his day in the age of the internet, because his potential clients are usually very well informed about what is happening in the market.

So what is the marketer's raison d'être today? And how is it that competent representatives of our guild are constantly becoming more successful and more in demand?

Well, it is precisely the abundance of information that confronts market participants with a major task. It is a matter of finding the right offers and filtering the relevant content from the multitude of information. Because all that glitters is not gold. The role of the marketer has changed fundamentally. Today, he is the pilot through the whole process of selling. A handshake and a balanced contract are no longer enough today. There are numerous complex challenges to be mastered until a transaction is successfully completed. And a whole orchestra of participants with very different interests has to be conducted.

But that is only the technical side. The successful marketer also has the gift of being able to put himself in the shoes of the prospective buyer and all the other parties involved. He sees the property through the eyes of the prospective buyer. Thanks to this ability, he can place an offer on the market in a targeted manner and thus create the optimal conditions for a successful sale. The basis for this is a good education - and his competence grows with every mandate, every conversation and every viewing. An experienced marketer is therefore more in demand today than ever before.
